MARILYN DAVID
Was born into a multi-racial family of seven singing sisters an American father an Ghanaian-Nigerian Mother. The journey so far: 1996 - till today. From the city of Motown, Detroit passing through the maple leaf cities of Canada, to the West African coast of Ghana, Nigeria and the European capitals of the Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Monaco, Estonia, the beautiful city of light, Paris and finally to the grand capital of music London (UK). She has kept her visions of becoming an worldclass entertainer and performing artiste alive and strong. When on stage she showcases versatility, flexibility and dynamic diversity of talents embedded in her soul. Indeed she is another full fledged Diva the world is preparing to meet very soon. Marilyn's fascination for music started out at the early ages of seven, expressing her self through songs and perfectly belting out classics from some of her Idols Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Tina Turner and Whitney to anyone who would listen. |

Her first solo performance in front of a large audience was also at the age of seven leading a children's choir. Three years later she discovered another passion which was composing and songwriting, in short she started developing her artistic through drama, literature, drawing and painting. Her vocal abilities did not only astonish her family and friends but also touched members of school authorities and the public at large. At sixteen she had already a huge collection of songs Conveying different moods and swings, touching diverse subjects of life, six of these songs made up the repertoire for the group Hepzibah Quintet with four of her sisters. The group played a lot at family gatherings and private functions until they got the opportunity to sing live on a local radio station in Detroit and this gave Marilyn a leverage into becoming a young performer professional wise. ..Becomming matured in a lot of areas she was already on the road touring different cities in America & Canada, performing in local clubs and featuring in live show with Ursula rocker, Lucky Peterson ......... She started showcasing in clubs and concert halls across the city giving live sultry performances, with her charming repertoire, Jazz, Pop, Soul, R&B, Ballads, Funk, Afro beat you name it, Marilyn rendered covers and original compositions with a very soulful and passionate verve. Still making music the center piece of her life Marilyn has consistently has cultivated her other talents, painting, drawing and fashion design. Marilyn was also recognized for her vivid imagination in essays, concept development and writing. For this she was given an opportunity to work for a television company in Africa and she was responsible for research until she proved herself more creative than what people knew of her. Marilyn began writing programs, creating concepts and was later promoted to productions executive, directing quite a number of projects including her favorite the "TEEN TV SHOW" a program highlighting the foes and woes of being a teen. Life was indeed beginning to take shape and Marilyn wanted more. To explore herself and push her boundaries she decided to leave for Africa. There the dreams sparked into existence and she became an active pan africanist for the WEB DUBOIS CENTER & RADIO as a presenter and singer. Wherever she went Marilyn struck a note that would remain evergreen in the hearts of many she participated in the Black Entertainment Awards (BET) inviting to Africa artist like Maya Angelo, Quincy Jones. R Kelly, Stevie Wonder to mention a few. Marilyn found herself settling in Paris to pursue another life long dream Fashion design but as fate would have it, she turned back music and since then she hasn't stopped rocking and rolling in the hearts of many. Marilyn's Demo got to the hands of Dance Icon, Cerrone who immeditely fell in Love with her work and has ever since adopted her as his Cerrone Angel writting and producing two hit singles with good friend and partner Niles Rogers. Ever since he has become a friend and Mentor to his young Artist, together they opened LIVE8 closed the 59th Cannes Film Festival in France and also closed the 50th Anniverssary of the European Union IN Brussells furthermore they will be hosting the worlds biggest Dance party in the Big Apple alongside "A" list stars in October later this year there Marilyn will showcase the new genres SOULROCK will set's her apart. amongst other great things in store for this Diva on the rise!!!!
